To the soul I once thought I had

Thursday, December 27th, 2007

Begone, now, my ‘dear’ old friend. Go and leave me be.

I thought you my lover, my guard, my king; but now I truly see.

You were a dream that held me down - awake, now, I am free.

On virtue

Sunday, June 26th, 2005

There is a time and a place
for you to show your grace.

One for each forgotten virtue
that should earn you a statue.

Oh, if only I could see those moments
and be relieved of all befoulments,

I could live my life so free
of all that causes misery.

Then at last could mine and I
be at peace and search the sky.

The boat was his life and soul. It sated his deepest need.
“She’s my queen and my lover. I’ve not a seed of greed.”

One day, as he left the harbour, he heard his rivals cry:
“You’re sailing into a squall! Cross Styx and you’ll be no Bligh!”

“Into the storm l’m headed, for now’s the time to be alive!”,
called he in triumph to the shore, with a pat on his lover’s side.

Precept of life

Friday, July 9th, 2004

A tranquil mind is a blessing to be had
only by souls that are properly clad.

Mind and body, heart and soul
are but tools of trade for the grow.

Life should be a journey, with wisdom to be had
  - a fulcrum for tales of the equally sad.
